K-Mold is a powerful 3D mold design modeler based on thinkdesign. K-Mold is very easy and flexible to use and supports very powerful functions to reduce the mold design time. And also K-Mold assists you to concentrate product engineering instead of drawing the moldbase and mold parts.
Pre-Design Assistant
“Fast Compare” compares the model before changed with after changed by detecting the changed parts, the unchanged parts, the deleted parts and newly created parts. Before starting actual mold design, the designer can search and understand the changed parts through comparing the surfaces. Product Analysis analyze the product data and classify various types of surfaces. So mold designer can reduce the design time dramatically.
K-Mold Parting Assistant
Automatic Parting Surface Generation provides powerful parting that has solutions for curve gaps and twisting surfaces. For the convenience of design, advanced ruled surface, hole filling utility and parting offset utility offer fast and easy surface generation. Core/cavity Separation generates core and cavity automatically and interactively by selecting parting curves or reference surfaces. Also this module handles both solid and surface data. For the simultaneous process with CAM department, core and cavity inserts are also automatically generated by selecting insert creation option. “Core/Cavity Separation Wizard” supports very easy core/cavity separation with only few steps.

Part Assistant
In mold design, K-MOLD includes extremely time-saving tools. These tools are programmed to dramatically reduce the design time and to design conveniently for the complicate and variety of injection mold design type, such as slider design, lifter design, ejector block design and so on.
Moldbase Design Module
User easily generates customized moldbase type. So user can design complicates and various types of moldbase easily using K-Mold Moldbase Builder that assists to create pattern or to modify size, part locations. Also, K-Mold allows the designer, through a customization window, to build a database of commonly used moldbases. All moldbases are created in 3D. K-Mold offers a Standard Part Builder which register and store the standard part and insert them into 3D moldbase. Standard Part Builder allows to register, modify and load any non-standard parts from database. And K-Mold allows to connect the database with network, so it is very useful to manage and to hold a database in the company. Specially, Standard Part Builder provides functionality for registering assembled parts such as locate ring and bolt.
Part Management
This module is programmed to assist mold design to apply mold parts that can be changed to the various types into the moldbase quickly and efficiently. Also, BOM information is managed, so after design the moldbase the part list can be generated automatically. Each module enables the mold designer to generate different types of part placement in the injection mold.
